What we do and what we offer
To control the quality of aluminum products, among others things, we evaluate the density and porosity of the aluminum melt before casting. One of the verified methods is measuring the hydrogen content in the melt in a vacuum of 80 mbar. We create an environment, in which the hydrogen level is visible while the aluminum sample is solidifying.
After the first sample is compared with a second sample that has solidified under atmospheric pressure, we can compute the density index. An important parameter for increasing the preciseness of the calculation is the melt sample temperature taken during the test or while it is being cast.
The vacuum device Martech VTCM0017 is the only instrument on the market that makes this possible.
